Stories about animals in connection to fire go way back to ancient times.
In this artwork, I have chosen two stories one true and one false.

In an Australian bushfire, a whistling kite will pick up alight sticks and purposefully take them to areas not on fire across rivers, roads and manmade firebreaks to create new fires.

In ancient Greece, Aristotle stated that the salamander was invulnerable to fire and born from flames. They have been seen running out of roaring fires unscathed.
